The bag is full It can seem like a dust bag almost have an unlimited capacity, it never gets full! By thinking so you are only messing thins up, dust bags are actually getting full rather quickly. A full dust bag reduces suction a lot and therefore effects the results. You are tricked because even if your dust bag is full the machine starts and sounds normally, and you can also se stuff being sucked into the nozzle. But, a full bag actually makes the dust force its way through the bag and out through the exhaust.
How do you avoid this?
How often you should change your dust bag depends of course on how often you vacuum clean and how big the are is that you vacuum clean. Different kinds of machines also have different sizes of bags. So it is hard to give you a hint on how often you should change you dust bag. But you can defiantly say that in general, people doesn’t change dust bags often enough. Next time you switch bag, vacuum clean an already vacuum cleaned area and have look in the bag afterwards. You will be amazed when you see how much dust that it has collected. You actually gather much more dust that you believe. People are generally changing bag once a year but I would recommend to change at least three times a year. Changing dust bag is the most efficient way to increase your effectiveness. Change bag often, the more often the more efficient vacuum cleaning.
