The filter The purpose of a vacuum cleaner is to collect dust and other debris. To sucked in doing so and to avoid that all the vacuumed dust is blowing right through and out of the machine the dust must stay inside of the machine, preferably in the dust bag. To ensure that it does so, the engineers has mounted a set of filters in the machine and these filters eliminates the amount of dust that exists through the exhaust to a minimum. As a end-user it is important to be aware of this feat. Otherwise, the risk is that you will end up vacuum cleaning a lot more often than you need and want to as soon as the dust settles.
How do I avoid this?
Make sure by looking in the manual that the filters are correctly installed. If they are, also make sure that the do not need changing. If they are fully functional make sure that they do not need to be cleaned. This is easily done by rinsing them in lukewarm water. Do not reinstall the filters before they have dried. If your machine is lacks a filter make sure you get one. They exists in different shapes and material, the best is just to buy a piece that you your self fit to your machines measures.
